Information on COVID 19

Here at Signature Smile Studio, our focus is always on providing a safe environment for both our clients and our team of professionals. Amidst the outbreak of COVID-19, we are more committed than ever to maintaining our high level of health and hygiene practices to reduce the risk of infection and transmission.

As per the instruction from the Australian government department of health, our clinic have successfully completed the infection control training for COVID 19.

In the interest of your safety and the safety of our staff, please read the following information before booking or attending your appointment at our Frankston studio.

What you need to know about Coronavirus

Coronavirus – often referred to as COVID-19 – is a respiratory virus that can cause mild to severe infections in the nose, throat and lungs. Subsequent illness can range from the common cold to serious flu or pneumonia, with the elderly, immune-compromised and pregnant people particularly at risk of severe infection. Symptoms can include fever, cough, sore throat, tiredness and shortness of breath.

COVID-19 can spread from person-to-person via physical touch or close contact with an infected individual, as well as by coming into contact with a contaminated surface or object. To prevent becoming infected or further spreading the virus, make sure you are doing the following:

  • Regularly washing your hands with soap and warm water for a minimum of 20 seconds.
  • Self-isolate by only leaving your home for essential activities, such as grocery shopping, medical appointments, caring for dependents and going to work in situations where working from home is not possible.
  • Practice social distancing in situations where you must leave the house, ensuring you keep 1.5m between you and others at all times.

How our clinic is prioritising your health and safety

To protect our staff and our clients, we have introduced new policies and processes throughout this time. This includes:

  • Before booking any appointments, all patients are asked whether they have had any symptoms of COVID-19 or returned home from overseas or interstate in the past 14 days.
  • All staff are advised not to come into work if they develop any symptoms of COVID-19.
  • All staff wear gloves and face masks, with our dental professionals regularly changing this protective gear between clients.
  • All surfaces and equipment are regularly disinfected and single-use protective materials are discarded and replaced between each client.

How to practice good hygiene while wearing aligners or retainers

For those clients who wear aligners or retainers, it has never been more important to ensure you are practicing hygienic wearing and washing techniques. This includes:

  • Washing your hands with soap and warm water for a minimum of 20 seconds before removing, readjusting or fitting your aligner or retainer.
  • Properly washing and storing your aligner or retainer when it is not being worn.
  • Ensuring that retainers or aligners are only ever placed on a sanitised surface or in a clean container.
